shiatsu for fibromyalgia
gentle, effective, natural pain relief

Do you suffer from fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome? I invite you to try zen shiatsu, a form of healing bodywork based on the principles of traditional Eastern medicine.

In the opinion of Western medical doctors, these syndromes are intractable, mysterious and are often considered "psychosomatic", i.e. existing only in the mind of the sufferer.

However, in the traditional Eastern medical model, the etiology of these syndromes can be readily explained.

Although each patient is different, both fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome are generally the result of energy blockages, stagnation, and/or depletion. Over time, these imbalances may manifest as pain of increasing severity.

As a qualified zen shiatsu therapist, I work with the body's energetic channels, or meridians, to clear imbalances and help your body restore itself.

Shiatsu is often called "acupuncture without needles", and is quite different from conventional massage: think of it as energetic medicine.

The physical techniques employed include pressure, stretching, and various manipulations, as well as energetic work.

Your treatment, or series of treatments, will be designed to treat the underlying cause of your fibromyalgia, and to gradually but effectively relieve your symptoms. Your treatments will likely include lifestyle and dietary suggestions.

Zen shiatsu treats the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. It is gentle but powerful, non-invasive, natural, and drug-free.

Feel well again.

Zen Shiatsu Quick Facts

Zen shiatsu is very different from traditional massage – think of it as energetic medicine, based on the principles of TCM (traditional Chinese medicine).

In practical terms, zen shiatsu involves deep breathing, stretches, and finger and palm pressure, as well as pressure with elbows and knees when appropriate. Touch ranges from gentle to powerful – always within the patient's range of comfort.

Disease is a result of imbalance in the body. If your natural resistance is high, disease will not invade.

Zen shiatsu can help increase your natural resistance and immunity.
